Matthew Schartz

Matt is a seasoned professional in commercial real estate operations with a diverse background and a career spanning nearly two decades across various leadership and technical roles.

Starting as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy, he honed his project management and leadership skills in a national defense setting before transitioning to the private sector and into commercial real estate. Working with Diversified Properties, a small San Diego-based commercial real estate, acquisitions, development, and management firm, he managed a 1.5 million square foot portfolio of office, light industrial, and biotech real estate assets, managing all property management and leasing efforts.

Transitioning back to his home state of Colorado and after a brief foray into the hospitality industry learning the craft of restaurant service and operations, Matt joined Continuum. Currently, Matt directs all property operations within Continuum’s portfolio. With just under one million square feet under management ranging from a small grocery-anchored retail center, office buildings with ground-floor retail, to complex mixed-used (office, retail, residential) projects, Matt oversees all operational programs and lease management efforts. He also has extensive experience managing and working with publicly financed metropolitan districts, public improvement fund/retail sales fee administration, and condominium association management and operations.

Matt’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s in Environmental Design, emphasis in architecture, from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he graduated with honors, and a Master of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego, emphasizing ethical leadership and international business practices.
